AU Information
AU Name: Hans Westergaard
AU Age: 21
Physical Differences: None
AU History: Hans is the fourth son to a noble house in the Gold Lands. There's some question as to whether he's totally legitimate or not, but the fact is he was unwanted. Fortunately for him, (and unfortunately for his family,) and despite the promise to provide a strong Gold Court vampire for their vampiric benefactors, Hans' older brothers have all failed to become vampires. Whether through failing classes, starting deadly fights, or simply bad luck, it's almost like they're cursed. The string of failures has caused his family to fall in status, and while the Westergaards have tried to keep the matter hush-hush, word inevitably gets around.
This is actually pretty gratifying for Hans though, as his older brothers treated him terribly growing up. As the youngest and the "runt" of the family, it was never expected for Hans to actually get the chance to become a vampire. He was always the spare, always vying for attention and trying his very best to prove himself worthy to his family. It didn't really work --for most of his childhood, Hans was at best ignored by his family, and at worst treated like an annoyance. He knew the thralls in his house better than his own parents, and was often bullied and belittled by his older brothers.
But all that changed when his oldest brother failed to graduate from Castle Courtsheart. It was a shock, though not unheard of, and one that they quickly tried to fix by sending his next brother to his undying seasons. He failed too. One was a mistake, two was a fluke, but three? Well, let's just say Hans' family standing is not looking good at the moment. With his brothers dead, Hans' parents were forced to finally acknowledge him, and indeed place all of their hopes on his shoulders. For Hans, it's the ultimate chance to prove his worth to his family, and also do what his brothers couldn't -- become a vampire for the prestigious Gold Court. I mean, he's definitely going to graduate under the Gold Court, right? He has to. If he doesn't, his parents will lose everything. That would be terrible!
AU Personality: Hans is still a lying, conniving, ambitious person with nothing to lose. He is a skilled actor and a master manipulator, which is why his eventual to to Red Court will be extra fitting. The biggest differences between canon!Hans and undying!Hans will come down to his leverage, and the relationship with his parents. While Hans still grew up wanting to impress them and gain their approval, he's a little more aware that maybe... that isn't the be-all, end-all of his life. There's no kingdom to rule or happily ever after waiting for him at the end of his vampire schooling, so my hope is to have him become more selfish (lol) and realize that he can leave his parents behind and live his own life. Sure, him skipping out on Gold Court is going to cost them dearly, but they suck! Maybe Hans deserves to be happy, and his parents can think about how messed up it is that they raised a family to sacrifice to their Gold Court overlords? No? Well, it won't matter to Hans, really. He's still looking out for #1.

Novice Information
Starting Season: Second season.
Maker: NPC first, but planning to skip to Red Court with Raphael...
Anticipated Court: Gold Court to start! Hans values power, governance, and wants the glitz and glam that he's seen the Gold Court display throughout his whole life. Mind reading and Enthrallment aren't going to be his strongest skills however, which will bring him to the Red Court -- where his princely sword work and skill at manipulation and lying will put him more in line with those principles. And seduction. This dude will definitely sleep with someone to get what he wants. He'd marry a girl he just met!
